Charge Cycles
The Eive incorporates Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo) batteries, Eive batteries are guaranteed to be at least 80% of their original capacity after 2,500 charge cycles. This means if you fully charge your Eive twice a week every week, it will take 24 years to reach the 2500 charge cycles or approximately 175000 miles.

Eive batteries are guaranteed to be at least 80% of their original capacity after 2,500 charge cycles.
This means if you fully charge your Eive 4 to 5 times a week every week, it will take over 10 years to reach the 2500 charge cycles.
Fully charge means below 5% to 100% From 50% to 100% is a half charge)
The batteries are located just behind the front seat.
All our electrical parts we use are new, NOT used or second-hand.
This system we have developed over 8 years and has been tried and tested in a production EV so we know the system is reliable.

So you might think this is the case! Battery cell capacity is not increasing at a high rate, the majority of range increase comes from the improvements and efficiency of the electric motors, NOT battery improvements. The electric motor we use in Eive has an average efficiency of close to 90%
With economies of scale the battery cost will drop but not as much as you think for the smaller buyers in the battery market like us.
Most modern EV battery packs are 5 or 6 times larger than the Eive standard battery pack. So the price will need to half to make a significant difference to our cost. The biggest factor as to why battery price will not drop is the raw materials needed to make the battery have been sky rocketing over the last 5 years as demand increases.
So if you are waiting for battery technology to increase the range or lower the cost, you’ll be waiting a very long time.
